Hot on the heels of two live performances at this year’s Ozzfest and Lollapalooza festivals, celebrated Swedish rock band Witchcraft has announced a US headlining tour in support of their critically-acclaimed album, The Alchemist (Rise Above). The two week jaunt will kick off September 4 in Seattle and feature support by fellow Swedes Graveyard and Brooklyn's TK Webb & the Visions.
Witchcraft's The Alchemist has been hailed as "timeless" and "a masterpiece" that "metalheads, indie fans, and music teachers alike could unite around." Recorded 100% digital free using only vintage amplification, The Alchemist showcases a group of musicians at ease with their playing and songwriting as addictive melodies and catchy riffs flow organically throughout, possessing a brand of effortless heaviness that is more a soulful feeling than a simple gnarly roar.
Previously available on the Japanese-only pressing of The Alchemist, Witchcraft’s cover of Roky Erickson's "Sweet Honey Pie” has been added to the band’s Myspace page.
