The Honorary Title On Tour, Ready New Album

posted July 18, 2007

The Honorary Title On Tour, Ready New AlbumThe Honorary Title is Jarrod Gorbel on lead vocals and guitar, Aaron Kamstra on bass and keyboards, Jon Wiley on guitar, and Adam Boyd on drums. Based in Brooklyn, the band started in 2003 with Gorbel and Kamstra playing gigs on the New York City club circuit. In 2004 the group released their full-length debut Anything Else but the Truth. On the heels of this critically-acclaimed, Shortlist-nominated album, the group recruited Wiley and Boyd, and The Honorary Title began to tour nationally with such diverse groups as Switchfoot, Taking Back Sunday and AC Newman.

The Honorary Title is back on the road and playing songs from their forthcoming record, Scream and Light Up the Sky, which will be released by Warner Bros. Records in August. They will be opening for The Format and will join Limbeck, Steel Train and Ollie Jason, among other bands, beginning July 18th in Houston, TX.

Produced by Rob Schnapf (Elliot Smith and Beck), Scream and Light Up the Sky is already receiving an enthusiastic reception. “Capturing a significantly fuller sound, the album showcases their individual talents, from singer/songwriter Jarrod’s Gorbel’s ultra-personal lyrics to bassist/keyboardist Aaron Kamstra’s classically influenced instrumentals,” says CMJ. The album hits stores on August 28.
