The Loved Ones' Dave Hause Set To Release Solo Debut Album On Paper + Plastick

Paper + Plastick Records has announced the release of the debut solo album from The Loved Ones guitarist/vocalist Dave Hause. Set for release in January 2011 on Paper + Plastick, Hause will release a CD EP and 7" in November containing a new song along with additional songs on the B-side. In anticipation of the upcoming 7", Hause recently announced his first solo trip to New Zealand and Australia supporting The Bouncing Souls and Hot Water Music in December.

"I'm excited about working with Vinnie [Fiorello, label founder] and the Paper + Plastick crew," says Hause. "Vinnie has been a friend for a few years and when I sent him my record he was really positive right away. His label has grown substantially in the few years since he fired it up and he understands where I'm coming from as a songwriter so it seemed like a good fit. This also gives me a chance to be label mates with Cheap Girls. Who would say no to that?"

While writing the follow-up to the last Loved Ones release (2009's "Distractions," Fat Wreck Chords), Hause was writing songs that didn't seem like they would fit on a Loved Ones record. With a number of solo runs under his belt, Hause admits, "I had only dabbled a bit in playing solo, and once I had enough songs for a cohesive record, I made the jump into the studio with the tunes." The result is a singer/songwriter record more in the vein of a Conor Oberst or Jenny Lewis album than a punk-singer-goes-solo record.

Strumming a handful of acoustic Loved Ones songs, as well as a few covers, Hause will be road testing a number of new songs on his upcoming tour. In the past, Dave Hause has shared the stage with Brian Fallon (Gaslight Anthem), Frank Turner, AFI, The Bouncing Souls, Tim Barry (Avail), Jim Ward (At The Drive-In, Sparta), and Chuck Ragan on his 2009 Revival Tour, to name a few.

Full-length details will be revealed shortly, as well as a release date for the 7".
