The Presets Set To Return To The US

Australian duo The Presets soar to even greater heights after two sold out nationwide tours in the US and a slew of prestigious awards around the world. Once again they're setting their sights on America and will return for more headlining shows this Spring 2009. It's certainly been quite a year for frontman Julian Hamilton and beats-master Kim Moyes, collectively known as groundbreaking Aussie electro popsmiths The Presets.

Indeed, 2008 has been a raving bounty of accolades and adulation for The Presets, their unstoppable sophomore release Apocalypso (following their critically acclaimed 2006 debut Beams on Modular) has dominated the airwaves, media and dancefloors across the globe since it's 2008 release. Such achievements were acknowledged at this years prestigious ARIA Awards (Australia's answer to the Grammys) where they received awards for the following categories (plus 3 ARIA Artisan Awards, including Producer of the Year for Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes, Best Cover Art and Best Video).

The self-produced Apocalypso, which spawned the gritty hit singles My People, This Boy's in Love and Talk Like That, sealed The Presets as Australia's premiere electronic act. Not only sweeping the ARIAS this year but also recently capping it all off in the most exemplary fashion imaginable with their winning of the 2008 J Award for Album Of The Year. With this nod, The Presets have joined an impressive list of legends alongside previous winners Wolfmother.

Apocalypso has gone onto to achieve Double Platinum (140,000) sales in their native country and the album continues to go from strength to strength in other territories. Since their last sold out tour with labelmates Cut Copy, they've now been catapulted into the US pop spotlight, gaining critical acclaim for both their studio and live performances, endlessly recruiting diehard fans from East, West and even the deep, deep South - Now's your chance to catch them in the States again, for the lads are set to return on a nationwide headlining tour this Spring (support TBA), so be sure to catch their spectacular live set in a venue near you.

Also, be sure to look out for a special Collectors Deluxe Edition of Apocalypso, due for release in the US and featuring remixes by D.I.M, Lifelike, Jence" Moelle (Digitalism), Dave Spoon, Felix, Optimo and Miami Horror.
