The Slants Announce New Music Video For "Kokoro (I Fall To Pieces)"

Portland, Oregon-based Asian outfit The Slants - Simon Young (bass), Aron (vocals), Jen Cho (keyboards), Gaijin (keyboards), AC (drums), and Jonathan (guitar) - have just released a music video for "Kokoro (I Fall To Pieces)", the first single off their debut full-length, "Slanted Eyes, Slanted Hearts" (self-released).

"Slanted Eyes, Slanted Hearts" is full of new wave, synth, pop, and danceable rock, all with an Asian flavor. The album has catchy hooks, smooth harmonies, and anthemic choruses - everything that a perfect record should have. And it has been catching the support of a new breed of fans: anime watching, video game playing, manga reading kids who are in love with the band's sound and show presence. The "Slants army" has been coming out in the thousands, with scheduled appearances in the near future for audiences of 12,000 plus. All this for a band who's first show was in June 2007. Talk about an out-of-the-gate success.

The Asian media, a very supportive network, has helped propel interest in The Slants, with publications such as The Asian Reporter, Asian Week, AA Press, and Shojo Beat Magazine doing features on them.

What's more, the band is already booked two years in advance for Asian/anime conventions worldwide: Australia, The UK, Ireland, Canada, and Japan. However, the band knows that the bars and clubs of the US can't be forgotten, and will be touring rigorously to spread the word of The Slants and their debut, "Slanted Eyes, Slanted Hearts."
