The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Portishead, Primal Scream Confirmed For FIB 2011

The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Portishead and Primal Scream are the first confirmations for FIB 2011's line-up. The festival will be held from July 14th to 17th in the Festival's venue (Benicàssim).

The Strokes, shocked the entire world with their debut album ‘Is This It? (2001), an album full of hits inspired by fellow countrymen such as The Velvet Underground and Television, among others, with electric guitars - Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr. - as their indisputable protagonists. Their fourth album is expected in 2011 which will probably be presented in their return to Benicàssim.

Arctic Monkeys debuted with their first album ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That´s What I´m Not' in 2006, which marked with a huge and historical sales success. Juvenile hymns that take you back to the decade of the '70s with incendiary guitar riffs and a very personal vocal interpretation by Alex Turner accompanies a very devoted band with a very strong mind set.

Portishead, the band from Bristol led by Geoff Barrow and Beth Gibbons and the invaluable contribution of guitarist Adrian Utley, came together at the beginning of the '90s publishing their first album ‘Dummy' (1994). The album was a huge and unexpected sales success and got huge recognition from critics and pubic. In 1997 they published ‘Portishead' and in 2008 ‘Third,' their last album up to date.

Primal Scream returns to FIB to offer a special concert that will cover their entire career going through all their hits as well as their master piece ‘Screamadelica.' A cocktail of house, soul, dub and rock that left the exploration and interaction between electronic and rock completely open.

On the other hand, the Early Bird tickets we put for sale the past month of August are sold out. As of today, we have allocated 3,000 4-day tickets at £145.

Vince Power - festival director - said "We're really excited about 2011's Benicassim Festival. The line-up looks to be brilliant, these first few fantastic acts are a taster of whats to come."
