The Wave Pictures Announce Spring Tour Dates

Moshi Moshi Records are proud to announce The Wave Pictures spring tour, including appearances at SXSW 2010 where they are one of Spin's "Must-Hear Bands" at the festival, and the Todd P Mty Mx Festival in Monterrey Mexico. The band are gearing up for the release of their North American debut, a double CD comprised of their two most recent UK releases, "Instant Coffee Baby" and "If You leave It Alone," out April 27th on Moshi Moshi.

Long time stalwarts of the lo-fi scene in the UK and Europe, The Wave Pictures have released or taken part in over 30 Albums, Singles, EPs, Collaborations, or Compilations. Across the ocean they have quietly built a reputation as purveyors of what The Guardian summed up as "some of the most gleeful magnificent pop in town." They've won praise for their lyrical prowess as well. "The Wave Pictures turn on a dime," wrote the NME in an 8 of 10 star review of "Instant Coffee Baby," "they can zip from the richly observed into amusingly confessional into a Lewis Carol flight of fancy."

Wave PicturesThough new to most in North America, The Wave Pictures have not gone without recognition. Despite not having a proper release in the states they've managed to grab the attention of influential ears like Brooklyn Vegan (whom invited them to play their 3/15 pre-SXSW party in Brooklyn, and 3/19 day party in Austin), Pop Tarts Suck Toasted, and Spin, who listed their album If You Leave It Alone as one of the "10 Best Albums You Might Have Missed in 2009."
