Twitch The Ripper Ready New Album For Release

Connecticut synth-pop duo Twitch the Ripper have had a busy year and a half since the release of their 2011 album Bodiless that ricocheted them out of the underground and onto national tours with industrial legends including My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, 16Volt, Imperative Reaction and God Module. Now the duo, consisting of singer/songwriters Jon Dobyns and Lonn Bologna, are back with the release of their new album, Colorblind, out August 14, 2012 on Metropolis Records.

Produced and mixed by multi-platinum producer Mark Saunders (The Cure, Siouxsie and The Banshees, Shiny Toy Guns, Erasure, A-HA), Colorblind shines with heartfelt emotion and alluring, vulnerable songs. "After our last US fall tour, we came into the studio fresh with new ideas and it really just came naturally as if we were playing live and not calculating each move. There’s a lot of heart and soul on Colorblind. Writing this record felt like a new beginning for us," explains Dobyns. "I have always wanted to work with Mark because of his work with some of my favorite bands like Erasure, The Cure, The Human League, and Cyndi Lauper. We had some roughs of the Colorblind songs, and I thought, at the very least, it could be something he might appreciate because of the 80's new wave/dance influence. I reached out to him and right away received word that he was interested and we began from there," he continues. "Mark really knew what we were trying to achieve with the album and he really hit the nail on the head regarding the production and mix."

The jump from self-releasing Bodiless to having the support of Metropolis Records behind them for the release of Colorblind has also marked an enormous milestone for Twitch The Ripper. "Being a part of Metropolis at such an early stage in our career was quite surreal, considering we are still relatively unknown. Metropolis acts are known for having a great deal of artistic integrity and I'm happy to be one of them," says Dobyns of the decision to join the Metropolis roster.

The duo are currently streaming their first single, “Strange Behavior”, off of Colorblind on their website now.
