WXPN is bringing the SXSW Music and Media Conference to Philadelphia this year with two live broadcasts. WXPN is also bringing local music to Austin by co-presenting the SXSWPhilly 2011 show along with Philadelphia music blogs The Key and YVYNYL. The SXSW Music and Media Conference, taking place now, will run through Sunday, March 20 in Austin, TX.
The SXSWPhilly 2011 show will feature only Philadelphia-based bands at The Broken Neck on Thursday, March 17. Participating local bands include:
WXPN will also provide its listeners on-air coverage of the acclaimed music festival via live broadcasts on Friday, March 18 from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday, March 19 beginning at 4:30 p.m. On Friday, WXPN will broadcast live from the SXSW Radio Day Stage including performances by The Felice Brothers, J Mascis, Bobby Long and more. On Saturday, WXPN will broadcast live from Auditorium Shores including performances by Kurt Vile, Man Man, Middle Brother, The Felice Brothers and Bright Eyes.

Now in its 25th year, the SXSW Music and Media Conference is the must-attend networking event for the 21st century music industry. Showcasing nearly 2,000 musical acts from around the globe on stages throughout downtown Austin, SXSW registrants have a first-look at tomorrow's stars.
