WXPN, Weathervane Music Organization To Collaborate To Showcase Philly's Independent Musicians

WXPN and Weathervane Music Organization, two Philadelphia-based non-profit organizations, will announce a collaborative project to showcase and foster independent musicians at a special launch event. The project will create a new model to support and promote independent music by providing production, marketing and distribution capabilities to artists that would normally not receive attention from for-profit record labels. Event highlights will include:

  • Announcement of first three participating artists
  • Remarks from WXPN and Weathervane representatives and various musicians
  • Collaboration name and logo reveal
  • Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten video montage reveal (For a preview of the Sharon Van Etten montage, please visit http://vimeo.com/8865918)
  • Live performance by Sharon Van Etten (2:45 p.m.)

This event will be broadcast online via a live webcast at www.XPN.org.
