YACHT To Preview New Album On US Tour

Recently YACHT released a note to their fans announcing that they will be previewing their new album on their upcoming North American tour. The tour is set to kick off in April in San Francisco. In addition, Claire L. Evans and Jona Bechtolt of YACHT make an appearance in a recent episode of VBS.tv's League of Two.

Dear Internet,

Just as the ego, if not regularly dissolved in the howling largeness of transcendent experience, will slowly drift from its sense of itself as part of a larger whole -- so will YACHT, if kept from the road, decay into nothingness.

This is why, beginning in April, YACHT will bring its new songs to the cities of the North American continent, holding concerts and planting the silver seeds of personal utopia in the minds of whoever will listen. We will be performing with our band, The Straight Gaze, which consists of Rob "Bobby Birdman" Kieswetter, Jeffrey "Jerusalem" Brodsky, and our newest member, Katy Davidson (Dear Nora, Key Losers).

Katy Davidson's new album, "California Lite," recorded by Phil Elverum of Mount Eerie/The Microphones, will be released in May 2011. It is incredibly beautiful and we are honored to welcome her to YACHT & The Straight Gaze.

Bobby Birdman has a fantastic Dub Narcotic Disco Plate 45 called "Don't Walk Away" coming out soon on K Records. Jeffrey Jerusalem will be playing select YACHT after-parties across the continent and is releasing a 7" and LP this spring.

Lastly, Claire L. Evans and Jona Bechtolt of YACHT star in the latest episode of VBS.tv's League of Two, a new web series exploring the nature of creative partnerships. This was filmed in May of 2010 and features us meditating, beholding natural beauty, and discussing transcendence.
